Income-tax Act, 2025 to Replace the 1961 Act from 1 April 2026

The new Act received assent in August 2025 and is set to take effect from 1 April 2026.
The Income-tax Act, 2025 was enacted to simplify direct tax law and is scheduled to come into force on 1 April 2026.
TAN and TDS-related references will follow the section numbers of the new Act. Deductors should watch official notifications for the transition.
